goodbye einstein...

This is cantstopthedawn, Einstein's grandma.

I had to put Einstein to sleep today. He's been gradually losing weight and I think it just got to his liver. His liver then went bazonkers and made him have tons of seizures, and then there was nothing to do but end his suffering.

He was 2 years, 6 months, 21 days old.

Grandma gave me this funny-tasting stuff she calls "B Vitamins" and now I'm REALLY REALLY HUNGRY!!!

Maybe I'll get big enough to glue my brother any time he humps me!

This year I've been busy!

In August I ruled Duluth, Minnesota as a kind and benevolent dictator (700 points). In May I turned skunkster in for tearing the tag off a mattress (3 points). In April on a flight to LA, I stole the emergency flight information card (-40 points). In February I gave tillieyo a wet willie, then I took it back (-5 points). Last Tuesday I didn't flush (-1 points).

Overall, I've been nice (657 points). For Christmas I deserve a red Radio-Flyer wagon!

Overall, I've been naughty (-5351 points). For Christmas I deserve a lump of coal!

I went to the vet today! It was just as bad as usual. I got knocked out and when I woke up my teeth were feeling all different. Then I had to wait a long time for Mommy to wake up from her anesthesia and for Grandma to take us all home. Then she made me some pellet mash and I was so happy because it was Tropical Fruit Blend that I had to eat ALL of it!

Also, Grandma got me some more Metacam! I love Metacam!

One of my teeth has been feeling funny and it's been hard to eat! Grandma must have known that because she took me to the vet. He looked in my mouth and kept poking me, which hurt, and then I fell asleep and when I woke up my ouchy tooth was gone! YAY!

Now I'm eating applesauce pellet mash! DOUBLE YAY!!! Also the cage got cleaned so it doesn't smell like Jackie's butt! TRIPLE YAY!!!

Jackie did something very rude to me a week ago and now I have a big bald spot on my butt. But I forgive him because he just doesn't know any better and that's why he has me around to think for him.

Okay I have very important work to attend to in my pellet mash bowl!! I will talk to everybody later!

I am no longer such a big fan of peaches! My new thing is...APPLESAUCE!!! I love unsweetened applesauce! It's soooo yummy! I tried bananas and sweet potatoes and mangoes and carrots but APPLESAUCE wins!!

I still like being cuddled and talking about physics though! And my poops still taste yummy! Grandma says I need to gain weight, so you know what that means...MORE APPLESAUCE! YAY!!!

My daddy died a year ago today. I miss him! He loved to snuggle with me and keep me warm and cozy. I would tell him all about peaches and general relativity, and he would try to teach me German and talk about Hitlers!

You all know that I have a genetic disorder, right? There's a pig in England with my same problem that's going to be fed to a snake! And we pigs are too fat to eat, anyway! i_stalk_badgers wants to adopt this pig but the manager of the store is really mean and won't let her save his life! Please write in and show your support!

I'm trying my hardest to get something done to save a lethal white in a "Garden Centre", which also happens to sell cavies.

On Saturday, I visited this garden centre, and was, to cut to the point quickly, horrified to see a baby lethal white in a cage entitled "breeding stock" (*shiver*) I spoke to the manager, explained that the baby was blind, and a result of a genetic problem that happened when you bred two cavies of certain colours. Midway through he stopped me, and informed me he was well aware of the situation. I asked him if I could give the baby a home when it was weaned, and he refused, saying it had "another use". I asked him if he was suggesting the baby would end up as snake food, and he nodded.

I'm trying to put together a campaign to save this baby. On Saturday, I contacted my local paper, the Hull Daily Mail about the issue. I am now trying to get others to do the same. If you can help - be you from the UK or ANYWHERE, please email the Hull Daily Mail: news{at}hdmp{dot}co{dot}uk Your email should have the subject line "Save the Thorngumbald guinea pig". Please make it clear in the email that lethal whites can live a happy, normal life as a pet, and that this creature should be given a chance. I have already told them that I am petitioning for it to have a forever home with me. Please also reinforce the fact that I can be contacted at cls061{at}yahoo{dot}de

The more people who do this, the better chance we have of getting media attention to this place, and for at least one life to be saved. The more people who write in from different places, the more the story becomes of interest to the public.
